My taste in music

I have what some would call an eclectic taste in music, but in reality, I listen to just about everything, having favorite bands, projects, and songwriters in every genre imaginable. I listen to;

  • Classical
  • Chamber
  • Opera
  • World
  • Folk
  • Rap
  • Classic rock
  • Punk
  • Rock
  • Progressive rock
  • Pop
  • Hardcore
  • Fusion genres
  • Spoken word
  • Blues
  • Hard rock
  • Heavy metal
  • Goth
  • Goth metal
  • Industrial
  • Death metal
  • Thrash metal
  • Black metal
  • Reggae
  • Trap metal
  • Rockabilly
  • Doom metal
  • Horrorcore rap
  • R&B
  • Country

I am most certainly not a gatekeeper of any particular genre, nor am I stuck in the past, as I love so much modern music in those aforementioned genres as well. I do have specific genres of music in which I have more favorites such as; Goth, industrial, black and death metal, classic rock, classical, and rap, but can generally get into any and all musical genres honestly. Some of my favorite bands are; HIM/Ville Valo, Type O Negative, Cradle of Filth, Dissection, Morbid Angel, Dimmu Borgir, Nick Cave and the bad seeds, Nine Inch Nails, Cannibal Corpse, Joy Division, Emperor, KMFDM, Six feet under, Electric Hellfire Club, the Empire hideous, The Beatles, Twiztid, Watain, The rolling stones, Bach, switchblade symphony, Beethoven, Marduk, Eminem, Esham, Schoolley D, NWA (And their solo projects), Nas, Pink turns blue, 50 cent and G unit, Creedence Clearwater Revival, the doors, and many more.

Music to me is the soundtrack of life, for every emotion, every struggle, and every celebration, there is a song or genre that fits it. Every single moment of my life that was tough, music was there, every single time I’ve been happy or excited, or wanted to celebrate something, music has been there. It has been something that has been a constant companion to me throughout my life and I am positive that it will continue to be so.

Music has lifted me up from despair, it has fueled me in my passion, it has helped me to celebrate victories, and has consoled me in defeat. Music has been there when others were not, music understood me when others did not, and when others have let me down, music did not.
