Article XIII – National Holidays

By order of the king, Lord Frederick William Cook, in accordance with the micronation of
Newfredland, we hereby establish recognized national holidays. In keeping with the
spirit of separating religion from our national identity, religious holidays may be requested for time off, but are not readily recognized within Newfredland. National holidays are observed days, which those who work may take the time off (with pay) and if they work, must be paid double time for the day that is recognized.

● January, 1st – New years day is recognized as a national holiday herein.
● July, 30th – The birthdate of King Frederick William Cook, the first king of
Newfredland.
● December, 31st – Founders day, the day of the official founding of Newfredland.
Other holidays may be celebrated by our citizenry freely, but are not nationally
recognized.
