A message from D3d

R.I.O. is its own entity… while many have fond memories of my time as D-Lux, Red in Obscura will not be the second coming of D-Lux. There is a time and a place for everything and D-Lux’s time and place was between 2001-2010, R.I.O.’s time is now. Nothing between the two is the same other than my involvement; sound, instruments, imagery, and lyrical content are wholly different.

Today, I am not the same person I was back then, nor will R.I.O. be the same, back with D-Lux I was brash, rough around the edges and unrefined, and so was my music. I am the opposite of who and what I was at the time of D-Lux and as such, Red in Obscura is much more refined, musical, clean, and altogether cleaner sounding. Another huge change is that R.I.O. also features more live instruments and less midi to comprise it’s music, a big divulgence.

The one aspect both projects share in, is me being the only one involved in them… and that being said…

There is a lot more involved in releasing music today than there was in my past, individual instruments instead of mostly midi, but I am planning on being relentless in my work. Atop albums, I am planning on releasing singles fairly often and eventually releasing albums as CDs, records, and digital releases. I will also share all lyrics and even guitar tabs for songs, so people can really get into the music!

Huge things will soon be coming to light with Echo Vibe Records as well… more on that will be announced in the near future…
